Fairfield Medical Center, OSU Wexner Medical Center To Offer Specialized Orthopedic Care To The Community

Fairfield Medical Center is proud to announce that it is collaborating with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to provide FMC’s patients with the best in orthopedic care, close to home.

Beginning in January, eight orthopedic physicians from Ohio State Wexner Medical Center will see patients at FMC on a regular, rotating basis. These physicians, whose specialties range from sports medicine to hand, knee and shoulder ailments and injuries, will perform surgeries at FMC and see patients out of a new office called Fairfield Healthcare Professionals Orthopedics. This office will be located on the first floor of FMC and is scheduled to open in January.

“We are excited to bring the programs and services of The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center to FMC and to work with Ohio State to advance the exemplary comprehensive orthopedic care to the communities we serve,” said John R. “Jack” Janoso, Jr., president and CEO of Fairfield Medical Center. “Our goal is to ensure our patients receive the best and most specialized care without having to leave their community, and each one of these physicians is both highly-skilled and dedicated to the treatment and care of patients who require orthopedic care and surgery.”

Among the eight physicians to join the FMC medical staff is Andrew Glassman, M.D., chair of Ohio State’s Department of Orthopedics.

“We’re looking forward to sharing our expertise with patients in Lancaster and surrounding communities,” Dr. Glassman said. “This collaboration makes it easier for people to get nationally-recognized specialty care close to home.”

The following physicians will be joining the FMC medical staff:
• Ryan Harrison, M.D. – joint, trauma, simple hand procedures
• Andrew Glassman, M.D. – joints and joint preservation
• Gerald Rosenberg, M.D. – upper extremity (shoulder, elbow and hand)
• David Flanigan, M.D. – sports medicine
• Timothy Miller, M.D. – sports medicine

Beginning Dec. 19, patients can call 740-689-4935 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Harrison. The remaining four physicians will begin scheduling appointments in January.
