Payment and Financial Assistance

Fairfield Medical Center is committed to providing the highest quality healthcare to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. Professional Financial Representatives are available to assist patients Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in person or by calling 740-687-8025 or 800-548-2627 ext. 8025. The patient may also email the Central Business Office at billing@fmchealth.org.

We are committed to inform or assist our patients with their hospital bill in helping to identify and facilitate financial assistance when applicable.

Our Financial Assistance Policy is:

Fairfield Medical Center (“FMC”) is a not-for profit, tax-exempt hospital with a charitable mission of patients, including those who are economically disadvantaged. Consistent with this commitment, FMC has developed this Financial Assistance Policy (the “Policy”) to identify and assist those patients who do not have the means to pay for emergency and medically necessary care provided by FMC.

Financial Assistance Opportunities: Financial Assistance is available for the uninsured and under-insured with incomes at or below 300% of the annual Poverty Guidelines. The application must be completed and submitted to the Central Business Office for processing.

Financial Obligations: Payment is requested prior to or at time at of service for non-urgent patients. 

Hospital Expense Loan Program (H.E.L.P.) at no interest if paid within one year or at 8% after one year.

Uninsured: All patients who are uninsured will receive an uninsured discount of 61%. This discount is applied to the total account balance prior to billing the patient. The patient would then be eligible for the prompt pay discount and may apply for financial assistance.

Prompt Pay Discount: 20% discount is offered if the patients out-of-pocket balance is paid at or prior to the time of service.

Additional Discount Opportunities: 10% discount if the patients out-of-pocket balance is paid within 20 days of receipt of bill.

Financial Assistance Policy and Procedure

Consistent with its mission to provide high quality health and wellness services for the community, Fairfield Medical Center is committed to providing financial assistance to uninsured and under insured individuals who are in need of emergency or medically necessary treatment and have a household income as defined on the attached schedule which is based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG).

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), any patient eligible for financial assistance under Fairfield Medical Center’s financial assistance policy will not be charged more for emergency or medically necessary care than the amount generally billed (AGB) to insured patients.
