Vascular Screenings

Vascular disease is serious and can lead to life threatening conditions such as a heart attack, stroke or aneurism. Even if you have no symptoms, getting screened for vascular disease is a good idea if you have risk factors (see below).

The following screenings are available at Fairfield Medical Center without a physician order at a low cost:

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening – ultrasound of the abdomen to determine if part of the aorta is enlarged and suggestive of an aneurism.

Carotid Artery Disease screening – ultrasound in the neck to view arteries and blood flow to identify plaque, narrowing or blockages in the carotid artery

Peripheral Artery Disease screening – blood pressures in the ankles are compared to blood pressure in the arms to determine whether there are blocked arteries in the legs.

Screenings are performed in our Cardiovascular Imaging Center and results are interpreted by a board-certified vascular surgeon. For more information about screenings, please call 740-687-8170
