Fairfield Medical Center Explores Partnership with OhioHealth

Fairfield Medical Center recently signed a non-binding letter of intent to explore the possibility of a formal partnership with OhioHealth. With this document in place, the non-profit organizations can begin sharing key information between parties to identify opportunities for expanded care and services in Fairfield County and beyond.

“For more than 100 years, we have provided patients with high quality care close to home, and that mission has not changed,” said John R. “Jack” Janoso Jr., President and CEO of Fairfield Medical Center. “As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, however, we recognize there is great value in collaborating with a tried-and-true partner like OhioHealth.”

Affiliating with a larger system often helps independent hospitals successfully plan for the future. In Fairfield Medical Center’s case, that includes managing a growing and aging population in Southeast Ohio.

“With economic developments driving the fast-paced expansion, more and more new residents are led to settle and commute along the US-33 corridor,” Janoso said. “As an organization, we understand we must act today to prepare ourselves for the demands of tomorrow. The opportunity to pool our resources and pursue a shared vision makes OhioHealth integral to expanding our healthcare footprint and available services.”

Through the years, Fairfield Medical Center has advocated for the importance of providing advanced care in a local setting, removing the barriers of transportation to improve accessibility. It’s this community-first and patient-focused approach that has drawn the organization to this strategic path.

“Fairfield Medical Center has been very intentional and deliberate in considering a potential partner,” Janoso added. “This was not a decision born out of circumstance, but an extremely thoughtful and calculated step towardour future. Our priority has and always will be our service to our patients, and we are excited about our potential to partner with OhioHealth to drive innovation and quality.”
